She has taught over 180 credits, over 80 classes, and has served over 3,300 students over the years.

Adjunct faculty members are not required to serve as mentors or to serve on school committees. However, Dr. Ricks have consistently served as a mentor to her students, she writes letters of recommendation, she has served on committees for the school, and she has attended and presented at multiple professional development conferences to improve pedagogy throughout the College.

Based on this above and beyond work from Dr. Ricks, she was among many adjuncts recognized as one of the top 20 adjunct professors for the 2021-2022 academic year. She is humbled by the opportunity to serve and be recognized. She has a passion for her students, is a lifelong learner herself, and looks forward to continuing to enlighten the minds of her students in the future.
