
Monday, January 20th, 2025 is the day reserved to celebrate and recognize the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The work of racial healing was initiated with Dr. King and the work continues onward today. The National Day of Racial Healing started being recognized in 2017 as a key component of the work of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation's Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation (TRHT) Initiative.
Dr. Ricks serves on the TRHT Advisory Board for Northern Virginia Community College and was honored to be present during the proclamation from the County of Fairfax Board of County Supervisors to make Tuesday, January 21, 2025 a Day of Racial Healing.

Dr. Ricks is honored to serve with Northern Virginia Community College and the Department of Neighborhood and Community Services to provide connections throughout the community. She serves as a co-facilitator for THRT Healing Circles and works to build the awareness of the commonalities throughout humanity that are often overshadowed. The work continues to ensure the world is a safe and inclusive place for everyone.
