Dr. Ricks and SBR Workplace Leadership Services extends condolences to the families and loved ones of those lost in the plane crash involving Flight 5342 and Army Black Hawk Helicopter on January 29, 2025. This tragedy is close to home and the affects will be long lasting. A candlelight vigil was held on Saturday, February 1st at the Ion International Training Center to honor 13 of the 67 victims who were directly affiliated with that ice skating community.
The grief and sorrow was heavy in the room and there were clergy leaders, grief counselors, and community support present for care and kindness. These families will need support and love for the coming days, weeks, months, and years. It is the duty of the community to check on these individuals and continue to hold them up as they grieve.
Participating in the ceremony and in attendance were many community leaders including, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, Lieutenant Governor, Winsome Earle-Sears, Loudoun County Board or Supervisors Chair Phyllis Randall, Leesburg Mayor Kelly Burke, Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman, Pastor Andreas Armstrong of Zion Lutheran Church, Pastor Will Archer of Potomac Valley Church, Coaches Sergeii Baranov and Maria Elena Pinto, and many, many more.
