Learning & Serving with PWC Police

Representing SBR Workplace Leadership Services (SBR), Dr. Ricks had the distinguished pleasure to spend a day with one of the three Prince William County (PWC) Police Departments (Central). SBR was selected as a representative of Leadership Prince William's Class of 2022 and this platform offered the great opportunity for this experience and to meet some wonderful professionals.

The brave and respected police officers of PWC are professional, efficient, and effective in all that they do. It was such a great honor to witness first-hand the many challenges our officers face on a daily basis as they serve and protect throughout our community. In one shift, there were warrants served, responses to car accidents, responses to disabled vehicles, dealing with disorderly citizens, tickets to those who broke the law, and more. It was nonstop movement with no lunch break all shift. Dr. Ricks learned so much from the experience that she is forever grateful for. What an amazing group of individuals we have who protect and serve the citizens of our great county with passion and love for the community and what they do.

If you are interested in applying for the Leadership Prince William program, the next class will be selected soon. Applications are accepted through June 17th. Apply here: https://leadershipprincewilliam.org/adult-leadership/how-to-apply/

A special acknowledgment is sent to Officer Houpt, Chief Newsham, and Major Hrubes for assisting with the arrangements and spending time with Dr. Ricks. SBR will be back out with the team for another shift one of these days. Stay tuned and stay safe out there!
